The Greatest Coping Mechanism

We all have access to the solution to panic and fear in these uncertain times.

Transcript

[Steve Myers] We live in difficult times. Certainly, times of stress, there's anxiety, some are even panicking over the Coronavirus. And yet, when we turn to God, he gives us a way that we can deal with the challenges that we're facing. We can begin to cope by using what I think is the greatest coping mechanism. What's God given to us?

Well, He's given us His Word. He's given us His Word. And in Psalms 119, this is the longest Psalm in the Bible, we find in Verse 105, God tells us very clearly His Word. "Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path." So, when we're faced with the darkness of what will happen, what's going to occur, what's the future hold, we can turn to God's Word, and we can connect with Him. And by devoting time in His Word, we can find hope.

I mean, how do you fill your mind with hope? Look to God's Word. In fact, we can find very clearly, 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Cast all your fears, all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."

You see, passages like that can help us to have a better perspective, to ease up that stress and fear, and anxiety when we recognize that greatest coping mechanism of all time. Turn to the Word of God.

That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
