Power of God

God is the ultimate craftsman, and like a house in need of renovation, He sees our ultimate potential.

[Steve Myers] Do you like those home renovation programs? There are so many of them out there, whether it's "Flip or Flop," "Property Brothers," all of those different shows... What's another one? "Fixer Upper." Those programs all deal with pretty much the same theme. They take a challenged home or a property, and then they fix it up. They see certain things that maybe the normal person doesn't see. They see the potential of a property, and then they make it happen.

You know, it's not too different from the way God envisions us. There's a passage in Ephesians, that gives us that indication. Ephesians 2:10, look at God's perspective on us. Ephesians 2:10 says, "We are His workmanship, created in Christ for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. So in a sense, God is looking at us and sees our potential. He sees Christ in us as our ultimate potential that we can be in the image of Jesus Christ. And what kind of craftsmanship does God have? I mean, He is the ultimate craftsman. He can take us who are less than nothing and by the power of His Spirit, do phenomenal things. And so, we are in God's hands, we are His workmanship, and God sees our potential. He sees us in His family forever.

And so when you consider that, that's so much more than just a "Flip or Flop." God sees us as a tremendous blessing, as a part of His family. In fact, a couple of verses later, He says, "Now to Him, who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Jesus Christ to all generations forever and ever. Amen."

Certainly, God sees our potential and He can do more than we can even ask or think. And so when God sees us, He doesn't see some dilapidated property. He sees us, ultimately, like He looks at His own son. That's our potential. And so as we consider that, let's begin to look at ourselves and see our own potential so ultimately, we can begin to fulfill that potential with the power of God.

That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
