God's Food Laws (Fundamental Beliefs Part 13)

God's food laws had been established even prior to the time of Noah, as God did not need to give Noah explicit instructions on which animals were clean and unclean before they boarded the Ark. However, when the Levitical system was established after the nation's years in slavery, it was necessary to codify a number of matters that had already been in effect for some time. Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 codify which creatures are set apart for food and which are not food.
 

Dale Osborne is a senior lab technician at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis. He was baptized in 1969, ordained as a deacon in 1992, and as an elder last year. He now serves as a local church elder in Troy, Illinois, and St. Louis, Missouri. He views his calling as one of being in service to God, Jesus Christ and his fellow man. In addition to his full time  career, he serves as a caregiver to elderly patients several evenings a week. In addition to enjoying service to others, Dale Osborne has a deep desire to study and teach the Word of God.
