You Are the Salt of the Earth

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said that His disciples are to be the “salt of the earth.” In our modern world, it is difficult to fully comprehend this statement. Salt is essential for maintaining human life. It is necessary to preserve and season food. Salt facilitates the healing of injuries. However, there is an aspect of salt that can destroy everything that it touches. Christ intends that our lives positively impact others. The way we live, the words we speak, the attitudes we carry with us, the lifestyle we adopt – will produce either positive or negative fruit.
