The 8th Commandment: Do Not Steal

Respect for other people’s property, whether tangible or intangible, and respect for our obligations and duties towards others represents one of the most frequent, daily expressions of our desire to love God and love our neighbor. It is all about outward concern and the way of give. Tim Pebworth reviews the various historical and modern interpretations of this 8th Commandment and then outlines four practical, biblical applications – theft of property, borrowing and not repaying, being fair in our business dealings and paying our tithes.

Tim Pebworth is the pastor of the Bordeaux and Narbonne France congregations, as well as Senior Pastor for congregations in Côte d'Ivoire, Togo and Benin. He is responsible for the media effort of the French-speaking work of the United Church of God around the world.
