Winnowing Words

Wheat VS Chaff

Winnowing is the process of separating valuable grain from the worthless outer husk that covers it. In ancient times, this process was done by tossing or pouring both grain and husk into the air and allowing the air to blow the chaff away and the grain to fall to the ground. Scripture uses this analogy in several ways, one of them being in comparison to words. Do we winnow the words in our life; both the words we speak, and the words that we choose to listen to?
